Bio
Masaru Kitsuregawa (M'81) received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 1983. He currently serves as the President of the Research Organization of Information and Systems and is also a Distinguished University Professor at the University of Tokyo. His research interests include database engineering, web archiving and mining, advanced storage system architecture, parallel database processing, data mining, digital earth, transaction processing, and more. He served as a program co-chair for the IEEE International Conference on Data Engineering (ICDE) in 1999 and as the general co-chair of ICDE 2005 (Tokyo). He has also served as a VLDB trustee, chair of the ACM SIGMOD Japan Chapter, and Vice President of IPSJ. Prof. Kitsuregawa is a Fellow of IEEE, ACM, the Information Processing Society of Japan (IPSJ), and the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE). He is the recipient of the SIGMOD Edgar F. Codd Innovations Award, the Legion of Honour Chevalier, and the IEEE Innovation in Societal Infrastructure Award.
Bio
Wookey Lee is a professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Inha University, specializing in Big Data, Industrial Security, and Bio-Medical System Engineering (BMSE). His educational background includes a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Seoul National University, where he also earned his B.A. and M.S. degrees, as well as a Master's in Software Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
He is currently serving on the IEEE TCDE Executive Committee and the Steering Committee for IEEE BigComp. His research excellence has been recognized with over 50 Best Paper Awards at international and domestic conferences such as IEEE TCSC, ACM ICIM, BigDas, ICDATA, KIISE, KORMS, and KOSIPER.
He is a prolific contributor to scholarly publishing, serving as an Associate Editor for numerous high-impact journals, including WWW Journal, Supercomputing, Sensors, DKE, DSN, CLUS, Computers & Industrial Engineering, Information Sciences, and IJDMB. He is also the Editor-in-Chief for EA and Big Data Service. His leadership in academic events is exemplary, having served as General Chair, Organizing Chair, and Technical PC Chair for major conferences such as CIKM, DASFAA, KJDB, ICDE, IEEE BigComp, VLDB, etc.
